Children and Youth Ministry

We are so blessed and honored to be able to help guide your children in the direction the Lord has set for us as followers of Christ. It is our goal to ensure that future generations are able to continue to spread the Word of God, not only in their speaking, but also through their living.



As Proverbs 22:6 reminds each of us, we should all….

More About Our Children & Youth Ministry

There is an old adage that states it takes a village to raise a child. Here at Pershing Park, it takes all of us, parents, deacons, ministers, and members of the church to support and uplift our children through righteous speaking, example setting, and encouraging expectations.

Our children and youth ministries are focused on doing just that.

​

Beginning in October, our Children’s Ministries and our Youth Ministries will engage in opportunities to support their growth and their mission work. On Wednesday evenings, Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, and our Youth for Christ will meet for bible study from 7pm until 8pm. Every Sunday, we have our Children’s Group and our Youth Group, who meet to learn about Christ through study during Morning Worship service.

Each month, we will promote various activities that your child/youth will have the opportunity to participate in. The question that is often asked is what the expectations for our children and youth are when attending bible study or attending any of the activities and the answer to this is relatively simple and biblical.

Luke 6:31 tells us to “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

​

So our rule is simple…

Treat People how you want to be treated.

It is a simple rule that applies to every situation.

  • If you would like someone to listen when you speak, then when someone else is speaking, make it a point to listen to what they have to say.
  • If you would not like it if another person hits you, kicks you, or calls you names, then keep your hands to yourself and speak with kind words.
  • If you want people to respect you, then show respect towards others.

It is not to say that others will do the same, but people do learn by those who lead by example and, more importantly, we remain true to God’s Word. As we work to build the Children and Youth ministry, please know that we are leading from a place of love and with safety in mind. Having a thousand rules and expectations will not get them there, but simply teaching from the place of treating each other how we would like to be treated, can have such a major impact in how we are able to foster and grow relationships and character.
